Bernard Schembri launched his ping-pong website back in the early days of the internet, when everyone still had a “homepage” named after them, and pixelated gifs were the height of cool.
But what started as a passion, almost by accident, led to some pretty interesting business opportunities for the then 15 year-old.
Pretty soon, Bernard found himself taking on sponsors, programming his own shopping cart and launching an ecommerce store – long before ecommerce was default business model it is today. By the age of 23 he was financially free, and today his site is one of the top ping-pong ecommerce stores on the net, generating well over 7-figure revenues.
In this episode, Bernard shares how he launched his venture from his home country of Malta, and grew it to what it is today.
